A 2018 animated film in [[Marvel]]'s [[spider-man (series)|Spider-Man]] series, loosely based on the Spider-Verse event from the comics. As in the source material, the film follows a story in which [[superhero|spider heroes]] from multiple different universes are brought together to stop an interdimensional threat. It notably uses a variety of art and animation styles to highlight the differences in the worlds each hero comes from. The movie is also notable for being [[Miles Morales]]' first film appearance. The movie was a massive success, winning the Academy, Annie, and Golden Globe Awards for Best Animated Feature, and creating a wave of interest in a live-action adaptation of the Spider-Verse comic. A sequel titled [I][[Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)]][/I] is set to release 2022 in, and a spin-off film focused around female spider heroes titled [i]Spider-Women[/i] is planned to release in the future.
