The Astra Militarum (also known as the Imperial Guard) are a tabletop army for [[Warhammer 40K]], one of the primary factions within the Imperium of Man. The Imperial Guard is characterized by being regular human soldiers in a apocalyptic future hellscape. The Guard is made up of countless different regiments, each with their own appearance, tactics and equipment. Many Guard regiments are based on or modeled after a particular historical army.
