A machine used to conduct [[execution]]s by [[decapitation]] originating in [[France]]. A typical guillotine consists of a large, heavy blade suspended between two tall wooden posts. Near the bottom of the posts the subject's neck is placed in a [[pillory]]-like restraint. If someone is shown in the guillotine, the image should probably also include [[execution]]. If the subject is still alive and his/her head not yet severed, regardless of whether the blade has started falling or not, the [[peril]] tag should also be included. Otherwise, if the victim has been decapitated, [[death]] and [[guro]] should be used. Updated by bot Sun, Sep 18 '22, 02:55 |
