A [[hand fan]] made out of leaves (or a single [[leaf]]). Often depicted as a single palm or banana leaf repurposed for use as a fan. Tiny characters may instead use a fern leaf. Another common variant is the "palm leaf fan", made from dried palm leaf ribs woven together (some are made from bamboo leaves, despite the name). These are shaped like [[uchiwa]] and often used in a similar manner (e.g. "to stoke the flames of a grill":[/posts/3665865]). [b]Do not[/b] use this for [[hauchiwa]], as those are made out of feathers despite some of them taking a leaf-like appearance. h4.
