[b][i]Science Ninja Team Gatchaman[/i][/b] (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン, [i]Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman[/i]) is a 5 member superhero team from the 70s that is composed of the main characters in several Japanese anime created by Tatsuo Yoshida and originally produced in [[Japan]] by [[Tatsunoko Pro]] and later adapted into several [[English]] language versions. It is also known by the abbreviated name [[Gatchaman]]. The original series (produced in 1972) was eponymously named [i][b]Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman[/b][/i] and is most well-known to the English-speaking world as the adaptation titled [i][b]Battle of the Planets[/b][/i]. The title is unofficially called as [b][i]G-Force[/i][/b] (not to be confused with the subsequent 1980s English language adaptation of Gatchaman, known as [b][i]G-Force: Guardians of Space[/i][/b]). Tatsunoko also uses the official translation [i][b]Science Commando Gatchaman[/b][/i], as shown in numerous related products and media. The first Gatchaman feature film was released in 1978. A second feature film version of Gatchaman was in development by Imagi Animation Studios for release in 2012 until it was canceled. A live-action feature film was released in 2013. h4.
