[b]Sonic the Hedgehog[/b] (ソニック★ザ★ヘッジホッグ, [i]Sonikku za Hejjihoggu[/i]) or [b]Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie[/b], is a two-episode OVA based on the [[Sonic_(series)|Sonic the Hedgehog]] franchise. Produced by Pierrot, directed by Kazunori Ikegami and written by Masashi Kubota, the OVA was originally released in Japan in 1996, with its two thirty-minute episodes over two separate VHS tapes. The two episodes were titled "[b]Welcome to Eggmanland[/b]" (エッグマンランドへむかえ, [i]Eggumanrando e Mukae[/i]) and "[b]Sonic vs. Metal Sonic!![/b]" (ソニックＶＳメタル・ソニック！！, [i]Sonikku tai Metaru Sonikku!![/i]). The anime features [[Sonic the Hedgehog|Sonic]], [[Tails (Sonic)|Tails]], [[Knuckles the Echidna|Knuckles]], [[Dr. Eggman]] (Dr. Robotnik in the English release), [[Metal Sonic]] and a few supporting characters created exclusively for the OVA. It also featured an ending theme "Look-a-like", with music score composed by Mitsuhiro Tada, who also did the arrangement for "Look-a-like". h4.
