A fictional para[[military]] organization from the [[Macross Frontier]] science fiction anime TV series and its movie adaptations. It also appears in the [[Macross 30]] console video game. [b]S.M.S.[/b] ([i]Strategic Military Services[/i]) is a special mercenary company or private army that serves as a civilian military provider or private military contractor for the [[N.U.N.S.]] forces. Its main base of operations is the [[Macross Quarter]] space warship in the Macross Frontier fleet. Some of its tactical units include the [i]Skull[/i] Team and the all-[[Meltrandi]] [i]Pixie[/i] Team. Most of its members are former N.U.N.S. ace pilots and/or experienced Human and [[Zentradi]] veterans and soldiers. In the Macross Frontier TV series this organization was the first to deploy the new [[VF-25]] variable fighter [[mecha]] to test them in field conditions before being officially adopted by the N.U.N.S. Other equipment used by this private army are the [[Queadluun-Rea]] [[power armor]] and the [[EX-Gear]] [[power suit]]. h4.
