A small box-shaped Japanese hat, associated with [[tengu]]. A tokin is a small [[box]] worn on the foreheads of Yamabushi - practitioners of ShugendÅ - or [[tengu]], dangerous yet protective spirits of the mountains and forests from the Japanese mythology.
