[i]Azur Lane[/i]'s personification of the Japanese battleship [i]Nagato[/i]. Character design by Alisa (kuro no sakura), voiced by Kuno Misaki. h4. Appearance In contrast to her ship class, she is portrayed as a child(-like?) character. She wears a red pleated sleeveless dress similar to a hakama with detached sleeves and what seems to be a jacket(?). She also wears a choker. Her equipment dwarfs her and consists of 4 double guns decorated with shimenawa in a split bow configuration with her spire/pagoda mast towering behind her, all seemingly held in mid-air with floating pauldrons and a semi-transparent cape. She has long black hair in a hime cut with bird-like decorations to her temples as well as golden yellow eyes. Like many ships of the Sakura Empire, she has animal ears of her hair color. Those are inferred to be fox ears from her wedding portrait (where she is surrounded by numerous white foxes). Her young appearance may be a reference to how Japanese schoolchildren donated funds for the two battleships, especially Mutsu (Azur Lane). As she looks like - and perhaps [i]is[/i] - a little girl, she is often contrasted with her Kantai Collection counterpart to the point where the latter goes "Nagamon":/pools/8242 after "herself". h4. History In real life, she was Yamamoto Isoroku's flagship in the first months of the war (even gave the signal for the Pearl Harbor attack to commence from her bridge). She served as part of BatDiv1 with Yamato and Mutsu in the battle of Midway, with Yamato as the new fleet flagship. After the war, she was used alongside Prinz Eugen (Azur Lane) and Saratoga (Azur Lane) as a target at Bikini Atoll during Operation Crossroads. She was sunk after the Baker test from a combination of damage sustained on the attack on Yokosuka and the two nuclear tests. In fact, her role in Pearl Harbor was the reason for them deliberately placing her near the center of the blast. h4.
