Netsuke are small decorative sculptures that typically serve a practical function. For instance, historically they were often used as latches or fasteners to secure a pouch to the objjime rope worn around the obi on a kimono or yukata. They are also often worn to serve a completely decorative purpose. In modern times, they are sometimes used as cellphone charms or straps h4.
