A forthcoming World Expo, which will be held in Osaka_(city)|, Kansai, Japan.

The logo, nicknamed "inochi-no-kagayaki" and created by graphic designer Shimada Tamotsu, has become a talking point on Japanese Twitter due to its mascot-like, albeit eldritch abomination|eldritch, design. This contrasts the other "top five entries":[www.expo2025.or.jp/en/news/news-20200825/] which were more abstract and stereotypical of a logo. This has spawned parodies interpreting the logo in a variety of ways, ranging from cute mascot to clothing motif to horrifying monster.

A mascot character based on the aforementioned logo was also created, which was "named":[twitter.com/expo2025japan/status/1549008586218655745] MYAKU-MYAKU.
