Wiki History Listing

V1 A large professional high-end video camera used by television studios and other businesses or organizations that need such devices. Three major types of these are: studio cameras, Electronic News Gathering (ENG) cameras (like those used with field reporters), and Electronic Field Production (EFP) cameras (likes those used to broadcast professional sports).

Only ENG cameras have the ability to record, making them similar to consumer [[camcorder]]s, although they tend to be much larger, heavier, and have a variety of other differences. Studio and EFP cameras lack the ability to record anything and are tethered by cables to the other equipment that records and/or transmits the video for broadcasting.
