Professor Shinonome, in the manga and anime series [[Nichijou]], is a girl of pre-school age who is nevertheless a genius inventor. Her inventions include (but are not limited to) the fully sapient robot girl [[Shinonome Nano]], who lives with her as a big-sister figure and guardian, and the scarf worn by their cat [[Sakamoto (Nichijou)|Sakamoto-san]], which translates his meows into human speech.
