Scientific name: [i]Passer domesticus[/i] Japanese: イエスズメ (家雀) A species of [[sparrow]] found throughout much of the world, but only very rarely seen in Japan. Male House Sparrows are similar to [[eurasian tree sparrow|Eurasian Tree Sparrows]] (of both sexes), but House Sparrows have a gray crown and lack the Tree Sparrow's black cheek patches. h4.
