The [b]Desert Eagle[/b] is a large-caliber semiautomatic [[handgun]] designed by Magnum Research and IMI. It is very popular in action movies and anime/manga, likely due to its ruggedly handsome appearance and intimidating bulk. The Desert Eagle is available in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50 Action Express Magnum calibers, as well as a variety of barrel lengths and finishes, for example the gold-plated, tiger-striped version.
