Introduced in 1949, the [b]North American F-86 "Sabre"[/b] is a [[jet]]-powered day fighter known for its role in the Korean War, battling the [[MiG-15]] for air superiority in Mig Alley "[1]":[/wiki_pages/24339#dtext-external-links], and its subsequent participation in the 1958 Taiwan Straits crisis and 1965 Indo-Pakistani War. The Sabre was one of the first post-war [[military]] jets to have swept wings. Powered by a single non-afterburning engine, it was armed with 6 .50-caliber [[machine gun|machine guns]] (three on each side of the nose) and could also carry rockets and bombs, including nuclear weapons. h4.
