A genre of expansionism, blueberry inflation is a fantasy fetish in which a female (and less commonly a male) turns blue, fills up with blueberry juice until they become spherical, and basically transforms into a human blueberry.

Blueberry Inflation is typically caused by consuming blueberry-flavored foods, most frequently gum. Another extremely common method of inducing blueberry inflation is via the juice of someone who is already a blueberry.

A person who undergoes Blueberry Inflation will generally need to be "juiced" to return to normal size, though frequently their skin will remain blue even after being juiced. Going too long without being juiced will result in excess juice being expelled from the body, usually via lactation.

Rarely, a person will become what is known as a "Permaberry", where their body will remain in a permanent state of constant juice production, requiring regular juicings to maintain a semi-normal lifestyle. Alternatively, a Permaberry cannot be juiced, as their body will replace the juice as quickly as it can be drained. Becoming a Permaberry is typically achieved either by going too long without being juiced or, if the inflation was caused by gum, swallowing it.

Depending on the artist, being a Permaberry may be treated as a perfectly ordinary physical handicap that could happen to anyone, with your average citizen as likely to see a Permaberry at the grocery store as they are to see a person in a wheelchair.

Blueberry fetishism draws its roots from the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, where the character Violet Beauregarde transforms into a giant blueberry after chewing a fantastical piece of gum which contains a full three-course meal - the problem being in the dessert, with the blueberry pie.
