* may have a heart-shaped hole
* either weak- or strong-looking

* colorful

* themed ([[Soldier]]s, elemental mages, etc.)

[[Xehanort's Heartless]] is an Emblem Heartless that retained a human form and mind.

If a Heartless is created from a strong-willed person, the discarded body and mind becomes a [[nobody (kingdom hearts)|Nobody]].
