The first game in the [[Star Ocean]] series, released in 1996 by tri-Ace but never localized to the west. [i]First Departure[/i] is the 2008 PSP enhanced remake of the Super Famicom version. The gameplay greatly resembles what is seen in [[Tales of Phantasia]] because most of the staff had left Namco after disagreements with Phantasia's development and formed tri-Ace to produce this game.
