男の娘 (Otoko no ko) is a Japanese slang term used to refer to males who have taken on a feminine appearance. The term is a pun on 男の子 (otoko no ko), meaning "boy", replacing 子 with the ko reading of 娘 (commonly musume, girl). Some communities have mistakenly taken to using the term as a word for feminine boys no matter if they convincingly wear girl's clothing or not. If you can correctly tell the gender with complete certainty from the thumbnail alone without looking at the genitalia, it's not this. English-speaking fandom has traditionally used the word "trap" for this concept. Due to the negative implications of the term and its history (which 男の娘 largely does not share) as well as the term's ambiguity in English, its use is inappropriate for tagging purposes and it has been aliased. h4. Feminine looking male. Does not indicate sexuality as it can be straight, gay, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, or of any other sexuality. Does not indicate gender identification. Does not imply cross-dress. Needless tag that just expands on redundant tags. Change to femboy instead. Explanation if what said was not enough: - Femboy is word you looking for to describe a person that is male and changes appearance/identity of female. Feminine male if you want it official without shortening. In English of course, that is main language of this site. - Tag that has too small number of posts, and no one even started to tag older posts to correct "mistakes". - Tag is already has branched to "no" and "ko" being used as one word. - Tag overuses same meaning (although in different languages). On this ground recommend to change it in favor of more commonly used term "Femboy" as it carries little to no sexual orientation but visual/mentality. If "trap" is already being bloated with misunderstanding as it is, no reason to extend it to another tags. Especially if same expression already covered by something else.
