Yoshida Shouyo was the headmaster of the Shōka Sonjuku school, and gintoki_sakata, katsura_kotarou, takasugi_shinsuke, imai_nobume and oboro_(gintama)’s former master.

Shouyo's appearance is very similar to that of Katsura. He has long, grayish, light_brown_hair and green_eyes. He also wore a grey kimono and a haori. He is often seen with a gentle smile on his face.
