A form of cheating in which the protagonist seduces someone close to another character. This isn't necessarily limited to lovers, but may also include friends, unrequited love interests, or even relatives.

Netori is intended to arouse feelings of dominance, among other guilty pleasures because the viewer is intended to self-insert as the homewrecker. The narrative, dialogue, and such in these works often go the extra mile to incite and reinforce these emotions.

Closely related is netorare (寝取られ) where the POV of the protagonist is the cuckold or cuckquean.
