Hinowa (日輪), also known as The Sun of Yoshiwara (吉原の太陽), is the highest ranking courtesan/oiran and de facto leader of Yoshiwara. She is also the adoptive mother of seita_(gintama), and considers tsukuyo to be her sister.

Hinowa is said to be extremely beautiful, she has blue_eyes long, black_hair that is usually kept in a geisha-like updo.
As a prostitute, Hinowa would wear elaborate kimonos and hairstyles, but has since switched to a simple, orange kimono.

She uses a wheelchair as she cannot walk on her own feet.
