Pteropus (Flying foxes), is a genus of megabats which are among the largest bats in the world, 1.5m (5ft) (wingspan), and 40cm of height. They are fruit bats. The pelage is (mostly) long and silky with a dense underfur and they have a mahogany-red and black fur, depending on the species. The name "Flying fox" is because they fly, mixed with its look, resembling a small fox, with small ears and big eyes. Not to confuse with a fox flying. Use the "[[flying]] [[fox]]" tags (separated) instead. Updated by kerij Sat, Jul 08 '23, 17:00 |
