A hood- or veil-like form of [[headgear]] worn by [[bride]]s in traditional Japanese wedding ceremonies. Unlike the [[tsunokakushi]] (another form of traditional wedding headgear), the wataboushi more fully covers the bride's hair. Compare in post #2159980 (here), on the left is a tsunokakushi, and on the right a wataboushi.
