The second of the Nagato-class battleships in Kantai Collection, named after Mutsu Province.

h4. Appearance
In-game, Mutsu has short hair|short brown hair, green eyes actually taken from the colors of the mutsu apple and large breasts. She is normally seen wearing a hairband with two radio antenna, a miniskirt, a top that bares her midriff and white gloves.

She obtained her Mutsu Kai Ni (Kancolle)|second remodel with the 27 February 2019 update. See the page for more details.

Infamous for once having the lowest luck in the game (3, 6 at Kai, a more respectable 16 at Kai2), stemming from her historical demise (she suffered a magazine explosion which cut her in half while at Hashirajima fleet anchorage). Because of the fate of the real life counterpart, many artists make jokes on her being easily exploded with the slightest movement (sneezing, coughing, getting excited ...). Often compared to a snail or a slug due to her headband and a pun between katamutsuri (snail in japanese) read backward with a few kanji switch making riMUTSUkata.

h4. Personality
She's shown as kind to various younger ships (and in doujins young admirals) due to some of her funds being raised in an elementary school.

Like her sister Nagato, Mutsu's personality was slightly altered for her appearance in the anime, in that she is friendly, flirty and demure to her sister rather than the admiral.
