According to the Gospels, the wife of Joseph and mother of Jesus. Catholic tradition believes she was conceived without original sin and remained a perpetual virgin even after giving birth to Jesus. Mary is the only woman explicitly mentioned by name in the Koran and is considered a figure of exceptional sanctity in Islam.

In 2022, a derivative depiction of her (itself based on Orthodox art of her holding Baby Jesus one-armed) drawn by "Chris Shaw":[chrisshawstudio.com/2013/...co-museum-of-modern-art/] from 2012, known as 'Madonna Kalashnikov', was drawn over to depict her holding a FGM-148 Javelin, in reference to the successful usage of Javelins by the Ukrainians russo-ukrainian war|against the Russians. This edit of her would quickly spread, dubbed St. Javelin. Another variant would emerge in this style, except instead wielding the FIM-92 Stinger, dubbed St. Inger.
